Blog Topics That Attract Insurance Leads

Why do business owners rely on blogs?

To market insurance services, the best in business write blogs for several reasons, including:

  1. Building brand awareness and credibility
  2. Establishing thought leadership within their industry
  3. Providing valuable information and resources to their customers
  4. Improving search engine optimization (SEO) and driving more traffic to their website
  5. Engaging with their target audience and building relationships with potential customers.

Knowing you should blog is like knowing why you should floss. Knowledge and action are two very different things! Blogging takes longer than most companies anticipate, especially when you consider blogging should be a regular task. Coming up with topics every week can be exhausting. Luckily, that's why we're here! Let's take a look at some of the topics that attract leads, and we will break down why these topics are so enticing.

Blog Topics That Target Specific Industries

Knowing your ideal client is imperative.

Understanding your ideal client is crucial for creating effective marketing strategies and building strong relationships with your audience. By knowing your ideal client, you can write blogs that answer the specific questions they often research. This turns your marketing from outbound (meaning you are reaching out to them) to inbound (meaning they are coming directly to you, which of course, is more likely to result in success).

For example, if you are trying to reach more construction company owners in your area, you have the following elements you can use to research on Google:

  1. Location name. Use your city and state to narrow down the search.
  2. Pain points. All construction companies worry about workers' comp expenses and Experience Modification Ratings (EMR). Using those in a search will help bring up topics that concern your audience.

With these two elements, we can conduct a search on Google for "Workers' comp expenses for construction companies in Coral Springs, Florida." Scrolling down past the sponsored results, you will see a section called "Others want to know." Here are four topics for blog posts. These posts will do well because they have been searched many times.

How to do a keyword search to find blog topics.

To do a keyword search for blog topics, you can start by brainstorming a list of relevant keywords related to your blog's niche. Then, use tools like Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, or Ahrefs to find related keywords, search volume, and competition. You can also use Google Trends to see which keywords are trending. Once you have a list of potential keywords, use them to find inspiration for new blog topics.

Blog topics with numbers

Blog topics with numbers are attractive because they provide structure and organization to the content, making it easier for readers to follow along and retain information. Additionally, the numbers in the title indicate that the post is a list or contains multiple points, which can appeal to readers looking for quick and actionable tips.

Added tip: Studies have also shown that odd-numbered lists are more memorable and attention-grabbing than even-numbered lists.

Here are some examples of blog topics with numbers that can make your content more attractive:

  1. 5 easy ways to keep a low EMR
  2. 10 ways to explain workers' comp to employees
  3. 7 things to look for in an insurance agent
  4. 3 reasons Coral Springs is a great place for construction companies
  5. 15 questions to ask an insurance agent (in order to get lower rates)

Case Studies

Case studies - if presented correctly - can be extremely successful. Many insurance agencies will create case studies that are 100% self-serving. This is not exciting for your client! Taking a different angle, a case study presented from your client's perspective is much more enticing. For example, explaining how you have the best customer service and showing the many things you did to make a process easier for your client is the standard way to present a case study. If you switch it to show the issue your client had and how they overcame it by leaning on you, it is a lot more interesting and less salesy.

Case studies should always be clear, colorful, and designed with easy-to-read charts and snippets. With everything that business owners have on their plates, they are not likely to read long paragraphs to get to the point.

Stick With Similar Topics To Bring Reader Back Time & Again

One of the main reasons blogs work is because they establish credibility and trust with potential clients or customers. What may not be as well known is that search engines also start to recognize your expertise in a subject which will boost your website higher in the rankings for the people you actually hope to reach.

It's vital that once you have a flow of topics, you stick with the same subjects in order to build a solid readership. Overall, being an expert on a topic can help a business stand out in a competitive market and ultimately lead to greater success.
