How These LinkedIn Features Can Help You Stand Out

LinkedIn has proven to be a massively popular platform for professionals. In fact, the platform boasts over 800 million members worldwide! In a sea of so many people, you might worry that it is impossible to stand out. However, LinkedIn constantly adds new features to help people find each other, whether it be employers looking for new hires, people searching for professionals they need, or just networking with like-minded individuals.

What are these features? Let’s discuss!

Create a Poll

One of the platform’s newest features is creating a poll. A poll is a direct way to question your audience and receive valuable feedback. You might want to use this feature to better understand the wants and needs of your clients and generate ideas on how to address them. Creating a poll is super easy; click on the three dots at the bottom of the “Create a post” box. From there, you can set the question, up to four different answers, and how long the poll will last. Try it out!

Share You’re Open to Work or Provide Services

Are you an agent looking for a new job with a workers’ compensation insurance company? One nifty new feature is to let employers know on your profile that you are open to work. Enabling this feature on your profile allows you to be visible in more recruiter search results.

However, if you aren’t looking for a new career, another side of the “Open to” feature is “Providing Services.” Turning this on allows for clients to find you easier based on the specific service you provide. For either feature, just go to your profile and click on the “Open to” button to activate!

Broadcast Yourself

Video is one of the most prominent forms of reaching people on social media. A more recent feature, LinkedIn Live, brings you closer to your audience with seven times the reactions and 24 times more reactions than traditional videos on LinkedIn. Starting a live video provides a communal experience that encourages interaction. You can give a Q&A stream of workers’ compensation, either for potential clients or in general. Your knowledge is valuable, and providing information for an audience helps both you and those watching. You will need to sign up for the LinkedIn Live service, but here is a handy step-by-step process straight from LinkedIn to help get you started.
